The high-performance 2D multi-plane bioptic EL70 scanner is an imaging technology-based, stationary scanner suitable for use in retail stores with high throughput. The imaging technology provides superior performance in terms of the omnidirectional detection and decoding of linear, 2D and GS1 Databar™ labels. The power of full imaging technology becomes particularly evident with labels that are hard to read, such as low-contrast or damaged barcodes.
The compact, ergonomic design of the EL70 Magellan™ 9400i is identical in its dimensions for the counter cutout to currently available bioptic scanner products on the market. This makes it easy to integrate into existing checkout installations. Its large scanning window and resulting scan area is comparable with bioptic scanners.
The EL70 opens new application possibilities, because it offers 1D and 2D bar code recognition from mobile devices.
The EL70 Magellan™ 9400i can be optionally-equipped with a 2D customer scanner. This means that customers can scan coupons and loyalty cards on their own.
A checkout scale can be optionally installed below the horizontal scan window. When the scale is used in conjunction with optional ScaleSentry™ technology, the system checks on the two main sides of the top platter using an invisible infrared beam to determine if the weighed article is positioned correctly.
The optional Digimarc® watermark recognition is only available for the EL70 Magellan™ 9400i. Compared to the EL69 Magellan™ 9300i, theEL70 Magellan™ 9400i scanner device contains an additional third processor for future feature enhancement and options.
