The 2D imaging technology provides excellent results when it comes to capturing and decoding linear, 1D, GS1 DataBar™ and 2D labels.
The power of this imaging technology becomes particularly evident with labels that are difficult to read, such as low-contrast or damaged barcodes. The EL63’s image capture system supports intuitive, fast barcode reading without requiring the user to position the bar-code label in any particular way. The use of the EL63 enables retailers to tap new application areas, since in addition to scanning 1D and 2D barcode labels on traditional media like paper, it can also scan them on displays, mobile telephones and PDAs. That enables new mobile applications, such as mobile couponing, mobile ticketing and voucher solutions, that have not been able to be supported by the laser-based presentation scanners available to date.
