Diebold Nixdorf Incorporated, 5995 Mayfair Road, North Canton, OH 44720, United States, on behalf of itself and subsidiaries and worldwide affiliates, including Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH, Heinz-Nixdorf-Ring 1, 33106 Paderborn, Germany, (collectively, "Diebold Nixdorf") appreciates that privacy is important to you, and is committed to respecting and protecting the Personal Information of all individuals with whom we interact. “Personal Information” is information defined as “Personal Data” under the European General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”) or “Personally Identifiable Information” or “Personal Information” under applicable privacy law.  As a business, we are committed to being transparent in our handling of Personal Information at all times in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.  This Privacy Notice describes the types of Personal Information that we collect from all sources, including in connection with our website www.dieboldnixdorf.com (the “Site”).  The data controller for the processing of Personal Information in the context of the Site is Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated. Diebold Nixdorf has designated Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH as its local representative where collecting Personal Information of individuals located in the European Economic Area visiting the Site.  Where data is collected from other, non-Site sources including, for example, where you are using a service, the data controller will be the Diebold Nixdorf entity identified in the respective communication.

Our Site provides you with information about Diebold Nixdorf, its products and services, and in certain circumstances, allows you to purchase Diebold Nixdorf products or services or sign up to receive further information about Diebold Nixdorf. We may use third-party service providers, such as Google Analytics™ or other similar providers, to help analyse how you use the Site and to improve our Site and our services.  This includes information about the type of device you are using, as well as your unique mobile device ID, internet protocol (IP) address or online identifiers, which are numbers that can uniquely identify a specific computer or other network device on the internet.  This information is linked to a cookie ID, which we receive and process. We use this data to inform general marketing strategy including at the customer account level.  You may find more information on the cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them below.  

Contact data

We collect contact details directly from you when you sign up to receive email alerts, attend one of our events, download our content, subscribe to our newsletters, or where you ask us to respond to a query you have.  The Personal Information we may collect may include your name, email address, employer and job title and location.

3.  INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

Diebold Nixdorf is a globally operating business consisting of multiple companies. Therefore, we may from time to time disclose your Personal Information within our group of companies. 

Information shared with our third-party service providers

We use a number of third parties to perform business functions on our behalf, such as sending our newsletters and hosting our online services and customer relationship management, as well as supporting our products and services. We will disclose Personal Information to these vendors and service providers to enable them to provide their services. 

Information shared due to corporate mergers or restructuring

We may disclose Personal Information with any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if part of our business is sold, we may give our customer list as part of that transaction.

4.  INTERNATIONAL AND GROUP COMPANY TRANSFERS

Diebold Nixdorf is a globally operating business consisting of multiple companies.  Therefore, we may from time to time disclose your Personal Information within our group of companies where we have a legitimate business need, as required by law or regulatory requirement or for fulfillment of a customer contract or service provision.  We may process Personal Information on servers, including those of service providers, which are located in countries all over the world and in the Cloud. Therefore Diebold Nixdorf may process your Personal Information outside the country in which you are living (including but not limited to the USA or India).  

We may collect Personal Information in preparation of entering into a formal agreement. Such Information may be used to conduct searches and background checks. Any related data processing may take place outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).  Such providers may use a cloud based tool, which means that data might be processed in countries outside the EEA. 

In each case where Diebold Nixdorf transfers Personal Information outside the EEA and such provider have agreed the necessary terms as required by law, and you may obtain a copy of these by contacting us.  
We implement and maintain policies designed to ensure the security of such disclosures and transfers in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

You have certain choices about how we use your information.

  • Object to our processing.   • Request erasure (deletion) of your Personal Information.  You have the right to ask us to delete or remove your Personal information where you have successfully exercised your right to object (see above), or where we are required to erase your Personal Information to comply with local law. Please note, we may be required to retain certain information by law and/or for our own legitimate business purpose. 
  • Request correction. You have the right to request we correct or update your Personal Information. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected.
  • Request the restriction of our processing. You have the right to restrict our processing  of your Personal Information in some situations. If you request this, we can continue to store your Personal Information but are restricted from processing it while the restriction is in place.
  • Withdraw your consent. Where you have provided your consent to our processing of your Personal Information you can withdraw your consent at any time. If you do withdraw consent, this will not affect the lawfulness of what we have done with your Personal Information before you withdrew consent.

Make a Complaint. You can contact us or our data protection officer at any time and we will do our best to resolve any complaint. However, if you feel we have not resolved your complaint, you have a right to make a complaint to your local data protection authority. If you exercise the rights above and there is any question about who you are, we may require you to provide information for us to verify your identity

Any information you submit in a public forum or social marketing site that is publicly available (such as a chat room, public posting or blog, whether or not sponsored by Diebold Nixdorf) can be read, collected, or used by us as well as others, and may be used to personalize your experience. You are responsible for the information you choose to submit through these third-party media sites. Use of any Diebold Nixdorf-related social media or marketing site may also be subject to additional policies and terms of use, which you should review before posting any such public information.

This Privacy Notice may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in law, best practice or a change in our practices regarding the treatment of Personal Information.  The date of the most recent revision will appear at the top of this page. 

9.  RETENTION OF DATA 

We will retain your Personal Information for as long as is necessary for the processing purpose(s) for which it was collected and other permitted purpose(s), including  retention of Personal Information pursuant to any applicable contract, law or regulation.  Our retention periods vary based on business, legal and regulatory needs.

No data transmission over the Internet or website can be guaranteed to be secure from intrusion.  However, we maintain commercially reasonable physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your Personal Information in accordance with data protection legislative requirements.
